With more than 1km of pure white sand, Cottesloe Beach is popular for snorkelling, swimming, and surfing. Also, there is a date that you don’t want to miss since March is the month for the annual Sculpture by the Sea. This is an exhibition where the beach turns into an outdoor art gallery!
Social Events
There are many different places for entertainment in and around Perth, with
Northbridge being the main district for pubs, clubs and live music. On William Street there are an array
of hip bars and restaurants, as well as casual backpacker bars.
Take a visit to Yagan Square, in the centre of the city where you’ll find lots of things happening
both day and night including shopping, eating and more. This is the place to go if you want to be part
of Perth’s exciting social life.
The West Australian Opera Perth allows Perth’s culture to be shown through music. You can follow the last updates of their shows in their website and get tickets for the best performances. This is a great way of doing something different whilst enjoying good music and learning about the culture of Perth.
Shopping
The Fremantle Markets established in 1897 shows Perth’s culture as you shop
and eat in all the buildings and stalls whilst you watch street performers. The markets offer an
affordable alternative to high end brands with each of the 150 stalls giving the vibrant culture that is
Perth.
Raine Square shows a different side to Australian shopping with high-end brands, fine dining,
fast food and entertainment. Award winning restaurants allow a change of atmosphere and taste as you can
rest after a long day of shopping.
Transport
Getting around Perth is easy due to the public transport system. TransPerth allows you to go on the bus, train and ferry. Perth Airport is just 30 minutes away from the city centre and you can use the shuttle services, costing $15 per person one way.
