Places to visit

Leicester is known for its rich history, so there are lots of interesting places to visit. The Leicester Castle is a great place to explore, as it has many exhibits on the city’s history, from Roman times through to the present day. You can also, explore the National Space Centre and see some of mankind’s greatest achievements in space exploration.

Leicester has a great shopping scene with plenty of options for visitors to choose from. The Highcross Shopping Centre is the city’s main shopping destination, offering over 160 shops and restaurants. Visitors can also explore the Haymarket Shopping Centre which features many independent stores as well as high-street favourites. Those looking for vintage finds should visit Leicester Market, where they can find an array of unique items at bargain prices.

Other popular shopping destinations include St Martin’s Square and Silver Arcade, both of which offer a wide range of retail outlets in historic settings. With so much on offer, it’s easy to see why Leicester is such a great place for shoppers!

Transport

The city has its own bus network which runs throughout the day and night, offering frequent services to local destinations. It also has an extensive railway network with regular trains running from Leicester Central Station to destinations across the country. For those looking for a more scenic route, there are cycle paths along the River Soar as well as many parks and green spaces in the city centre. Additionally, Leicester is served by East Midlands Airport which offers flights to domestic and international locations.
