Social events

Music lovers will find themselves at home in Lancaster. The Lancaster Music Festival gathers amazing bands from Europe, America and the UK and offers live gigs everywhere in the city across 40 different venues. There is also a Jazz Festival that takes place every September and brings together local artists in the community. This is the biggest club in the city, owned and run by the university’s student union and it will become your place to go and hang out with your university friends as it is exclusively opened to students! The club also offers free buses to campus so that you can move around safely.

The Assembly Rooms Emporium offers a mix of different stalls in which you can buy vintage and secondhand clothing, gifts, books and much more. You will also find a selection of the best cakes and biscuits made at the local bakeries.

Transport

Moving around Lancaster couldn’t be easier; take the bus or walk anywhere you want!

There are also plenty of areas to cycle around or to go for a run in Lancaster. Some bus companies like Stagecoach offer student passes are available for a term or the full academic year, making sure that you reach all your favourite places spending as little as possible.
