Why did you choose to study with NCUK?
The course is well-structured in the way of its delivery, inclusion, level, and international qualification. It makes me feel prepared before entering the University. And not a surprise, I felt nothing to be worried about when I was undertaking Year 1 at The University of Manchester. The basic theories were all in my mind so I knew how to respond during lectures and workshops. And l liked to interact with my international lecturers and classmates.
How has your NCUK experience helped you to get to where you are today?
I learned what I needed to learn. I am not only talking about the courses but also a learning model that is required for every international student – that is from feeding-teaching to self-learning. This learning model becomes so crucial later when I studied for my undergraduate and postgraduate, I gained lots of benefits from it, which even impacted my current work attitude.
NCUK courses and assignments are designed to let students interact and encourage teamwork. Had I not studied an NCUK qualification, I wouldn’t have learnt these skills before university.
What are your goals for the future?
I am currently working in the media sector. My short-term goal is to be a professional in this field. For longer-term goal, I want my work to empower a bigger society in the future.
I want to not only let media make communication easier but also to let it generate positive power, given the current the world is undergoing so much negativity. It’s still a bit vague maybe, but I always education and a good mind and make the world a better place.
Do you have any advice for future NCUK students?
Don’t limit yourself to the learning of subjects. Hard skills are needed but they are not everything. Value your time while you are still a student in foundation year because that is about the period to equip you as a well-performing student at the University. You will get so much benefit later on campus – you will get good grades and hence have time to enjoy the different cultures and friends!
The current hardness is temporary, NCUK courses are there all for a reason – to make sure you are prepared. So go ahead and don’t panic.
